General questions
What is AutoNews.com.ua? +
It is a vehicle history check service. We collect data from auctions, insurers, service stations, customs and government registries, and present a car's full history in one clear report by VIN, license plate or lot number.
Why check a car before buying? +
The report reveals hidden damage, the real mileage, an auction past and legal risks — information a seller might keep quiet. It helps you avoid overpaying and steer clear of a problem car.
How accurate is the data in the report? +
We cross-check across more than 15 sources, so the data is roughly 98% accurate. The information comes not from the seller but from independent official and auction databases.
Search and check
Can I check a car by VIN? +
Yes. Enter the 17-character VIN and you will get a report with registration history, auctions, mileage, damage and photos.
Can I check a car by license plate? +
Yes, a check is available by a Ukrainian license plate — the system will find the matching records and build a report by the car's VIN.
What is a lot number and how do I search by it? +
A lot number is a car's identifier at an auction (Copart, IAAI and others). It lets you find the auction history, final bids, sale status and photos from the sale.
Where can I find a car's VIN? +
The VIN is usually shown on the registration certificate, on the plate under the windshield, on the driver's door pillar or in the engine bay. It is 17 characters made up of letters and digits.
Report and data
What does a vehicle report include? +
Registration history, ownership changes, a mileage chart with a rollback warning, auction history, damage with infographics, listing history, photos from various sources, legal risks and a VIN decode.
Where do the car data and photos come from? +
Data is collected from auctions (Copart, IAAI, Impact, Manheim), insurers, service stations, customs, government registries and archived sale listings. Photos come from auctions and archived listings across different periods.
How is mileage rollback detected? +
We build a mileage chart from dates across different sources. If the mileage in a later record is lower than an earlier one, the system flags a likely rollback.
How does the open report differ from the full one? +
The open report shows a basic portion of the data and is available for indexing. The full report contains all photos, the complete auction history and listing history — it unlocks after payment.
Payment and plans
How much does a check cost? +
A one-off report, packages for several checks and a subscription are available. For current prices and what each package includes, see the Plans page.
What payment methods are available? +
Payment by Visa and Mastercard online. After payment, the full report becomes available in your account right away.
How long does the report take to generate? +
The report is usually generated within a few minutes. If a source is temporarily unavailable, generation may take longer — we will notify you as soon as the report is ready.
Cars from abroad
Can I check a car from the USA? +
Yes. Auction history from Copart, IAAI, Impact and Manheim is available, with final bids, sale status, damage type and photos.
What do the Salvage and Clean Title statuses mean? +
Clean Title means a car with no serious insurance claims. Salvage Title means a car declared a total loss by the insurer after an accident or another event. The report shows the status and details so you understand its real condition.
What should I do if no data is found for a car? +
You can set up VIN monitoring — we will notify you as soon as new records for this car appear in the sources.
