Simple and transparent

How it works

A vehicle check on AutoNews takes three simple steps: you enter the car's details, we gather records from dozens of sources and put together a clear report. Below we explain exactly how it happens, where the data comes from and what you get in the report.

  • Report in minutes
  • 15+ data sources
  • Preview before payment

What you can enter for a check

Just one of the three identifiers is enough — the system will find the matching records on its own.

VIN

The car's 17-character identifier. It gives the fullest history, including foreign and auction records.

WBAJU3J0XJ0A12345

License plate

A Ukrainian state registration number. Handy when the VIN is not yet known.

AA 1234 BB

Lot number

A Copart, IAAI, Impact or Manheim auction lot number — for cars from abroad.

52483921

Three steps from query to report

The whole process takes a few minutes and needs no special knowledge.

  1. 1 Step 1

    Enter the car's details

Provide a VIN, a Ukrainian license plate or an auction lot number. One identifier is enough.

    • No registration to search
    • Hints with a sample format
  2. 2 Step 2

    The system searches for records

We query auctions, registries, insurers, service centres and other databases, then cross-check and merge the data.

    • Cross-checking of sources
    • We show how many records were found
  3. 3 Step 3

    You get the report

A structured report with history, photos, a mileage chart and risks. Make your decision with confidence.

    • Saved in your account
    • Clear even without experience

Where we get our data

We don't rely on the seller's word — every record is confirmed by an independent source.

Auctions

Copart, IAAI, Impact and Manheim: bids, sale status, damage type and archived lot photos.

Insurance companies

Records of insurance claims and accidents that help reveal hidden damage.

Service centres

Records of servicing and repairs with the mileage logged on the date of the visit.

State registries

Registration actions in Ukraine, changes of owner, restrictions, seizures and wanted status.

Customs

Data on the car's import into Ukraine and customs clearance to trace the vehicle's route.

Sale listings

Archived listings: price, mileage, description and photos of the car at different points in its history.

What the report includes

We compile all the data we find into one clear report with easy-to-read sections.

Registration history

Registration actions in Ukraine and changes to the car's registration details.

Change of owners

How many owners the car has had and when it changed hands.

Mileage and chart

Actual mileage by date and a warning about possible rollback.

Damage

Type and areas of damage with dates, sources and a car diagram.

Photos from sources

Archived photos from auctions and listings at different points in the car's history.

Legal risks

Wanted status, seizures, liens, restrictions, insurance and taxi use.

Questions about the check

How long does it take to generate a report? +

A report is usually ready in a few minutes. If a source is temporarily unavailable, we keep monitoring the data and notify you once it appears.

Do I need to register to run a search? +

No. You can run a search and see how many records were found without registering. An account is only needed to save and open the full report.

What if there's no data on the car? +

Before payment we show how many records were found. If there is little data, you can set up VIN monitoring — we'll notify you when new records or auctions appear.

How accurate is the data in the report? +

We gather records from 15+ independent sources and cross-check them against each other. The data comes not from the seller but from auctions, registries, insurers and service centres.

Can I check a car from the USA before it ships? +

Yes. By VIN or lot number you get the Copart, IAAI, Impact and Manheim auction history with final bids, sale status and photos.
